Welcome back families for the start of Term 3, and a special warm welcome to any new families joining us this semester.
Last semester our school had many reasons to celebrate the success of our students, and we certainly look forward to reviewing student results once academic reports are finalised. Reports will be emailed home shortly, and once this has occurred a message will be posted on our school Facebook page so families are aware. Please ensure that your email and contact details are correct with the school (particularly if you have changed jobs or homes over the break), so that you receive these emails. Sometimes they do end up in “junk” mailboxes as well, so please check. Further details will be sent home early next week regarding parent teacher interviews for week 3.
This morning our brave group of year 12 students embarked on their journey south to participate in the Kokoda Challenge. It will be a challenging weekend, both physically and mentally as they push themselves to the end of the trek. A huge thank you to our staff and students for their dedication – we look forward to seeing your updates via the Facebook page over the weekend.
There are lots of events coming up this term – make sure you keep an eye out for updates. Next week on Thursday we are looking forward to hosting our Careers Expo for students. After fantastic reviews from our 2021 expo we were keen to make it bigger and better this year! A huge thank you to Mrs Weatherly and her team for their organisation of this opportunity for our school community.
Attendance remains a key focus for the school – students struggle to achieve if they aren’t here! With so much ill-health in our community, it’s important that students only remain home if genuinely unwell so that they save up those days away for when they are actually sick. We encourage students to maintain healthy habits while at school as well – social distance reminders, access to hand sanitiser in every learning space, wear a mask if you wish to, and to stay at home and test if displaying symptoms. We appreciate your efforts in helping keep our community healthy.
Thank you to staff and students for a wonderful first week back – we look forward to another successful and enjoyable term working together to help students achieve.
