Hervey Bay State High School lamb incident

19/04/2016
Hervey Bay State High School takes the health and welfare of students, staff and any animals under its supervision very seriously.

Sadly, a lamb was found deceased by a staff member on Sunday and was appropriately stored away from scavenging animals.

A teacher and two students from the school’s agriculture class retrieved the body yesterday in preparation for the lamb’s burial.

While the teacher was momentarily assisting other students in the class, the two students in question took inappropriate photographs with the deceased animal and later posted them to social media.

Hervey Bay State High School does not tolerate cruelty in any form.

The students will be dealt with in line with the school’s Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students.

Police are involved with the investigation.
