Hervey Bay High has a well established leadership program where every student can apply to become a Senior Leader from the beginning of Year 11.

Once inducted as Senior Leaders students can then nominate for the elected positions of House Captains and Vice Captains (from Year 11) and School Captains (Year 12). Senior Leaders at Hervey Bay High promote a positive image at school and the local community by their appearance, behaviour and participation in school and extra-curricular activities.

Senior Leaders also participate in a leadership development program which involves interviews, monitoring (with feedback), forums, workshops, dinners, excursions and guest speakers.

Senior leaders also take part in events such as:

• Anzac Day Parade
• Australia DAy
• Relay for Life
